Short version

What we collect

Account info
Email address (required to sign in). Display name and base location if you fill them in during onboarding. We use Supabase Auth — if you sign in with Google, Google sends us your email + a basic profile claim, nothing else.
Resume
If you upload a PDF or DOCX, the file is stored in Supabase Storage. We extract the text with pypdf and run it through Anthropic Claude once to produce a structured summary used by the scoring tool. The raw file stays in your storage bucket until you delete it.
Chat messages + tool calls
Every message you send to the agent, every job it surfaces, and every tool it invokes is stored against your account so the conversation can be reloaded. Chat history is yours — you can delete any conversation from the sidebar and the rows go with it.
Preferences ("memories")
When you (or the agent on your behalf, with your confirmation) save a preference like "remote-only, EU timezones, no on-call", it lives in Mem0 — a third-party episodic-memory store. The agent reads from Mem0 on every turn to personalise results.
Applications + status
Roles you apply to, save, or dismiss are stored against your account so the pipeline page works. Status changes (interview, offer, rejected) are recorded as an audit trail.
Usage analytics
We run Google Analytics 4 with anonymize_ip on. We track which pages get viewed and which filters get used, never raw search text or chat content. The GA4 measurement ID is shared across the marketing site (roleminer.app) and the app (app.roleminer.app) so sessions stitch correctly.
Billing data (only if you pay)
If you subscribe via Stripe Checkout, Stripe holds your card data — not us. We receive a customer ID, subscription status, and the period boundaries so we know which tier to serve.

Who else touches your data

These are the third-party processors. We use them under their standard data processing terms. Each one's privacy policy is linked.

Processor What it touches Region
Anthropic Chat prompts, resume text, JD analysis, CV tailoring. Anthropic has zero-day-retention enabled on our account — they don't train on this data. US
Supabase Database (auth, profiles, applications, chat history), file storage (resumes, tailored CVs), auth tokens. US / EU (project-dependent)
Mem0 Long-term preferences ("memories") the agent recalls across sessions. US
Stripe Card processing, subscription state. Only if you upgrade to a paid tier. US / EU
Google (GA4) Anonymised pageviews, event counts. No raw search text or chat content. US
Vercel Marketing site (roleminer.app) edge hosting. No personal data — the marketing site is static. Global edge
Fantastic.jobs Upstream job-listings index. We send filter parameters; we don't send your identity to them. US
Sentry Server-side crash reporting. Includes your user ID + the request path + the stack trace — no chat content, no resume bytes. US

Cookies

We use one functional cookie set by Supabase Auth to keep you signed in. We do not use ad-targeting cookies. GA4 sets first-party analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) with anonymize_ip enabled.

Your rights

To exercise any of these, email hello@roleminer.app from the address you signed up with.

Data retention

We keep your account data as long as your account exists. Chat messages and tool calls older than 18 months may be archived to cold storage but stay restorable until you delete the account. Application audit events are kept for the life of the application row; if you unapply a role, its event history goes with it.

Children

RoleMiner is built for engineers searching for engineering jobs. We don't market to anyone under 18 and don't knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If you believe we have, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll bump the "last updated" date and post a note on the changelog. Material changes get an email to active users.
