Questions, answered
The things people ask before they sign up. If yours isn't here, email hello@roleminer.app — every answer below started life that way.
-
Is RoleMiner free? +
The free tier covers a daily budget of agent chat turns, manual searches, resume scoring, and CV tailoring — enough to use the product end-to-end and decide whether it's worth a Pro plan. Pro lifts the daily caps and unlocks up to 3 scheduled email digests. Pricing is on the home page; cancel anytime via Stripe's customer portal. -
Where do the listings come from? +
We index 1,200+ sources via Fantastic.jobs's aggregator API: ATS systems where companies post directly (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, Jobvite, Smartrecruiters, and similar) plus the major job boards. Listings link out to the original posting on the company's ATS — we don't gate or paywall applications. -
How fresh are the listings? +
The job-listing pages on the public site (/jobs/<slug>) rebuild every 6 hours. The in-app live search hits the aggregator at request time, so it's never older than the upstream cache (roughly 10 minutes). -
Does RoleMiner work for non-tech roles? +
Yes. The filter set (work arrangement, location, currency, salary disclosure, time window, industries) doesn't assume tech. A query like 'remote marketing manager roles in Berlin, last 14 days, paid in EUR' works the same as one for a backend role. Coverage is densest in tech because that's where ATS adoption is highest, but non-tech listings are first-class. -
Does it work for hybrid and on-site roles? +
Yes. Work arrangement is its own filter with four options: Remote Solely, Remote OK, Hybrid, On-site. Region presets (LATAM, Europe, APAC, North America) don't imply remote — picking LATAM + On-site returns in-person roles inside LATAM countries, picking LATAM + Remote Solely returns fully-remote roles open to LATAM applicants. The filters are independent. -
Which currencies does the salary filter support? +
USD, EUR, GBP, BRL, CAD, AUD. Multi-select — picking USD + EUR returns roles disclosing pay in either currency. Pair with the 'Only with disclosed salary' switch when you don't care about the currency itself but need a number on every result. -
What's the AI agent actually doing? +
The agent translates your sentence into the same filters the Search page exposes (title, location, work arrangement, currency, etc.) and runs the search across the same 1,200+ boards. It reads your resume to score role fit, can tailor your CV to a specific job description, and remembers what you've applied to + what you've dismissed across conversations. It uses Anthropic's Claude API under the hood. -
How does CV tailoring work? Does it lie on my behalf? +
No. The tailor service runs a no-fabrication guard: every term in the tailored output is checked against a curated buzzword list and your master CV's vocabulary, and anything the model invented gets flagged in a review dialog before the PDF renders. You can edit or delete the flagged bullet and re-render — no AI cost for the second render. The output is a RenderCV-generated PDF, downloadable and stored in your account. -
Can I run scheduled job-digest emails? +
Yes — on the Pro plan. Pick a saved search, set a cadence (daily, 12-hour, or weekly), and we email the new matches at a fixed UTC time. Up to 3 active alerts at once; pause or delete to free a slot. -
What data do you store about me? +
Your resume + extracted highlights (used for scoring and tailoring), your application pipeline + comments, your saved preferences ('do not suggest jobs from X', 'I prefer Remote Solely'), and your saved searches + alert schedules. Everything is stored in your Supabase row with row-level security. We don't sell data, don't share with brokers, and don't run ad targeting. See the privacy page for the long form. -
Can I cancel and delete my data? +
Yes. Subscription cancel goes through Stripe's customer portal (linked from your profile). Account + all related rows can be deleted by email request — there's no automated 'delete account' button yet because the population is small enough that a human-handled request is faster than building a self-service flow that's safe to run unattended. -
Why don't I see results in the time window I picked? +
The time window (1h / 24h / 7d / 6m) mirrors the upstream Fantastic.jobs API's date_created field — which is when the aggregator first saw the listing, not when the company posted it. A '24h' search will sometimes show a posting dated 3 days ago because that's when the aggregator picked it up. We expose this honestly rather than papering over it.
